Students summary
We have learned about money, printing, cursive writing, and how to be organized. We use a daytimer, and we visit the library each week, and the staff there are very helpful and kind to us while we look for the books we need.
We get to use the computer for our work, and we learn how to find information on the internet.
We did a research project last year, and we learned about penguins and elephants. We found information from four books. We presented our project to the class. It was fun.
We have a lot of fun learning our work.

Parents testimonial
Five years ago my daughters teacher explained to me that my daughters academic learning had leveled off. Her program became strictly a social program after that, which included a weekly project of washing the teachers car.
We were very disheartened, because we knew that she was still trying to read and wanted to learn more. We saw that she was learning things from the TV, but she was not learning anything of value at school.
She had no formal education since then, until she joined the class at CalTech in the fall of 2008.
Today, my daughter is reading everything. She has an eagerness to tell us information like never before. Her communication skills have improved three fold, and her thinking and reasoning skills are much sharper than ever before. My daughter writes her first and last names, and can read a grocery list written in cursive writing. Best of all, she is interested. She wants to know things. She wants to add her opinions to adult conversations. She wants to be seen as an adult.
She is proud of herself and her 'college', her confidence is booming.
My daughter has never had a bad day at this school.
